Day Opportunities
Take part in community activities and learn new skills
Satash Community Care believe that people thrive when they are given positive opportunities to learn, gain qualifications, develop their skills and get involved with people. By providing individualised support packages our day opportunities work achieve exactly that.
We offer support to vulnerable people by enabling them to access a wide range of community-based activities. It offers people with learning disabilities/differences the chance to gain practical life skills, find supported employment and volunteering opportunities, go to college, learn about arts and crafts, and get involved in the life of the wider community.
Our team will endeavour to ensure that service users accessing our day opportunities are involved in planning and deciding how, when, where and what they’ll be doing. Satash focuses on the opportunity side of things, and how the life of each person can be enriched and meaningful to them.
We can provide a variety of sessions/ activities which aim to increase social skills and independence skills whilst others are pure fun such as art, cookery, drama, gardening, music and pottery. As well as building based activities, Satash staff support service users to take part in community-based activities such as bowling, shopping, swimming, trampoline sessions and visiting museums and galleries. People can choose to take part in the activities on their own or in a group so that they can build a circle of friends and interact and learn together and become confident with themselves.
