Childrens/Young People's Services
Our children’s services was established in June 2013 and we provide 24 hour residential care and support including non residential short break services for children/young people aged from 12-18 with Learning Disabilities/Differences including children/young people who have Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
Short breaks to help your family
The residential home is a bungalow called 'Jasmine' and is tastefully decorated to provide a caring, nurturing, calming and friendly environment. Satash will aim to make their stay at Jasmine fun and educational with a smooth transition from childhood to adulthood. Our Children’s services also provides children with Learning Differences and their families with short break care to help families have the much needed break and time needed with other siblings/children in the family and to spend quality time with them.
We support the child/young person to specialist education and leisure opportunities, and offer innovative programmes such as the ASDAN Programme to enhance disabled children's confidence, independence, self esteem and their educational and social inclusion. At Satash we believe that it’s every child/young person’s right to express what they need and what they want, and to be supported to communicate how they feel.
We do this by being 'person centred' and using person centred approaches. It is their right to be listened to and live their own lives. We believe in working in partnership with the children’s/young people’s families, professionals and carers so that the individual can be supported to deal with different challenges and experiences that come their way and are helped to deal with these challenges by our caring staff team to overcome these barriers and thrive whilst making the transition to adulthood. Satash Community Care believe in delivering quality person centred care and work within the framework of 'Every Child Matters' (2003). This is the key element of our care and support we provide to our children/young people and we firmly believe in the aims and objectives based upon the five outcomes of:
- Staying safe
- Be healthy
- Enjoy and achieve
- Make a positive contribution
- Achieve economic well being
